Solar
Photovoltaic (PV) technology converts sunlight directly into electricity via silicon-based cells. Today, crystalline solar cells have typical conversion efficiencies of 13% to 18%. Amorphous thin film panels have lower efficiency at 6% to 8% but have some other advantages. PV is used for Earth-orbiting satellites, remote telecommunication devices, municipal lighting, off-grid power, and grid-connected power through net-metering arrangements. The technology is very mature, well established, and remarkably reliable. To attest to its reliability, crystalline solar cells installed in the 70's are still operating today.

Advantages
- PV allows you to produce electricity from a renewable energy source, giving your organization a competitive advantage as global fuel prices continue to rise
- With many governments now giving tax and rebate incentives, a solar installation can pay for itself in five to ten years in many places
- The system produces electricity from a clean energy source, reducing air pollutants and green house gas emissions
- Attaching solar panels to individual houses or buildings can not only reduce your energy cost, but also assist your organization to obtain green building certifications such as LEED
- Low operating cost compared to existing power technologies

All industrialized and developing nations share a need for electricity and solar power is increasingly being used as an option for supply. The Very Large Scale Photovoltaic Power Generation (VLS-PV) proposal argues that "PV systems could generate many times the current primary global energy supply". Solar PV has a bright future.
3Tech was a pioneer in Hong Kong by investing in photovoltaic system design and installation and the company is now the local leader in renewable energy systems. We have a wide range of products and services, such as framed PV panels, PV glass units, PV roof tiles and solar lighting. They not only help you save energy but also increase the profile of your organization.
