Mar.Hong Kong Environmental Protection Department has built the first artificial "Super incinerator" island off Shek Kwu Chau, and built municipal solid waste incineration and power generation facilities on the island. This is the first waste-to-electricity conversion project of the new-generation waste incinerator in Hong Kong. It is also the first black start system synchronised with the large-scale steam turbine power generation system in Hong Kong, with an annual output of about 480 million KWH of electricity. To produce enough electricity to power 100,000 homes.
